STUCK

Stopped in the streets under lights by the cars on my way home to see her
Left a key under the mat by the door in the front, she'll be fine
When I arrive she's asleep by a clock next to light that she reads by
I gently close the door
Tiptoe across the floor

And there she is dreamin'
I am left thinkin'
As I lay down by her side
I'm takin' this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?

Flip the switch by the desk drawer she's awake now and smiling
But in a moment the lights go down
We're huggin', kissin', and foolin' around
There's no place that I'd rather be
Love the way she holds on to me...

But soon she'll be dreamin'
My soul is screamin'
As lay down by her side
I'm taking this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?

Well, forgive me I can be so naive
It hits me in the morning when she's ready to leave
But she tells me all the time with just a look in her eye
That she'll be back again as she waves and kisses me
Goodbye...

And when she is dreamin'
I am left thinkin'
As I lay down by her side
I'm takin' this all in stride
Cause who's to say I'm not dreamin' too?
